Jo-Ann is an Instructional Coach at a new innovative school called Quantum Academy at the Nicolaysen Center. Jo-Ann was tasked with the incredible job of researching and designing Quantum Academy. Quantum Academy promotes the development of creative confidence in all students and helps students access content through STEAM learning, PBL, innovative use of 1:1 iPads, and design thinking. Jo-Ann was named 2012 San Diego Teacher of the Year and 2012 semifinalist for California Teacher of the Year. She is a Google Certified Innovator blogs about the creative use of GAFE and iOS apps on her website AppEducation.com. Jo-Ann is one of the co-founders of #caedchat. In addition, she is an organizer of Edcamp San Diego and also plan a free tech conference for teachers in her district. Jo-Ann advocates for the creative use of apps in education, project based learning, maker ed, and design thinking.
