George Porter has been teaching high school English for three years in the Carlsbad Unified School District. In addition to being his school's technology coach, George also is an OER content curator on the ELA vertical alignment team. Sacramento-born but currently residing in Oceanside, California, George spends his time with his wife and dog when he isn't grading papers. He loves sports, reading, learning about and using tech in the classroom, and learning about the world through travel and podcasts, but mostly podcasts. His education philosophy is that students have the potential to thrive in whatever subject area they apply themselves to as long as they're given the opportunity and encouragement to do so.
